Taste of Nashville, Issue 13

Brandon and I have had the wonderful opportunity to become friends with Nicole, a co-worker, and her boyfriend J.L. (you may recognize their names from previous posts). Nicole had a birthday a few weeks ago and we celebrated with dinner out on the town. Nicole LOVES Italian food, so she chose to go to Amerigo, an Italian restaurant with locations in Nashville, Memphis, and Jackson, Mississippi.

Amerigo is a nicer restaurant, so we dressed up a bit for this affair. We joined a small group of Nicole's friends at dinner with us - here are pictures from our night out:

Brandon and J.L. being silly - their friendship was meant to be.

Brandon and I - we matched so well!

Friends of Nicole's, Hannah and Lauren.

The whole group after a lovely dinner.

Brandon ordered his staple Italian dish - chicken parmesan. It was absolutely delicious! I ordered a mushroom ravioli - it was alright, but definitely not as good as I had hoped when ordering. I expected a thicker sauce and instead, it came with a broth sauce.

My mushroom ravioli.

Amerigo was good, but not great - we had a great time overall, but that can mostly be attributed to the company we had to share our meal with.

After dinner, we went to Nicole's apartment for dessert. She made strawberry mascarpone filled cupcakes. They were delicious! If you'd like the recipe, click this link: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/strawberry-and-mascarpone-filled-cupcakes-recipe/index.html

We had a wonderful time celebrating Nicole's birthday! In a few days, we get to celebrate my very own birthday - I'll be 25 this year, so we're having a 'Quarter of a Century' party. We'll be sure to post about how it goes!

  1. Once more, you have found a new place to eat that was worth writing about. I want to try those delicious sounding cupcakes too! Sounds like you and Brandon are meeting some wonderful people and great friends. Continue to have lots of fun!
