Hello everyone! We're officially back to blogging after a few hectic weeks at Belmont. We've missed updating you about our lives, so we'll get you up to date with this post.
After our last post RAs came to campus to begin RA training. RAs are students who are employed through Belmont's Office of Residence Life. They each have a floor section of residents that they are responsible for caring for and being a resource to. I supervise six RAs and five of these RAs are new to the position this year. This meant that training was a big deal - I had to make sure they learned the necessary knowledge to feel comfortable to start the year. Training lasted six days, many of those 10+ hour workdays. In our 'spare time' we made a video (this was used as part of the closing session of RA training) - here's a link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uZzUkLvxE4
Students returned to campus Friday-Tuesday and classes begin tomorrow. With all the students returning, this past weekend was CrAzY! In just four days 190+ women moved into our residence hall. My staff worked many long days to prepare & execute this process. I am so thankful for a wonderful staff that worked so hard to help the move-in process go smoothly.
While I was away at work, Brandon was working on a song for his Grammie. She is 90 years old and a wonderful person. Brandon wanted to do something special for her, so he wrote a song about her called 'Little Miss Sunshine'. Here's a link to the song: http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/9918737
This Friday marks my 18th day of work in a row. We both have the coming weekend off, so we have plans to hang out & have fun in Nashville. Once we have the opportunity to do that, we'll have fun news/pictures to load to the blog. We hope you're doing well!
I love the rap, I love Brandon's song. I love you!
ReplyDeleteI miss you too. I am glad your life is settling back down a little bit. Sounds like it is really good though, even if it is busy. So happy for you and Brandon.
I look forward to being able to talk to you again now that life is slowing. I am proud of you!
